The Connecticut Port Authority, an MJC client, is leading an effort to redevelop State Pier in New London. The state of Connecticut has set aside $15 million to help pay for the project. According to experts in the field the timing is perfect. A number of wind energy projects are being planned for the waters off the northeast and New London is perfectly situated to service them. A request for proposals for a developer and operator of State Pier went public in early June. Bids are due in August.
